Laird Swensen

Nutrition & Exercise Counselor

Exercise has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. In 2nd grade, I vividly remember seeing the AB-Flex infomercial for the first time and being completely convinced that it was the best way to get in shape. Like many get-fit-quick infomercials, it wasn't the solution to my health goals, but it was a springboard into a lifetime pursuit of knowledge and strategies for better health.

I studied Exercise and Sports Science at the University of Utah and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition Education from Weber State University. I’m a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), and a Level 1 United States Weightlifting Coach (USAWL1). I also recently completed a strength and conditioning internship with the University of Utah in the Olympic Sports department.

I enjoy people, conversation, learning, working out, and movies. But more than anything, I love cooking mediocre food for my wife Abby, and the way she still laughs at my terrible jokes.
